Trained in Classical ballet and graduated in 1967, Gabrielle started her own ballet school teaching the Royal Academy syllabus and also taught at a number of private schools, taking her to be Principle of one of the most successful RAD schools in London and the South East. Following a relatively early retirement, she and Trevor purchased a blinds company in the Wirral and they moved to North Wales to run this. In the early days, Gabrielle was heavily involved with the marketing side of the business and went on regular site visits to advise new customers.
As the business grew and more staff were recruited, she began to take more of a back seat and focus on her two main loves ,interior design and gardens. She has over a period of time, using her extensive knowledge of plants, skill and flair, refurbished their Georgian house and redesigned the garden ,which is now open to the public for charity under the National Garden Scheme. She is still involved with Indigo and will readily work with design companies and Architects to advise of fabrics and colours for a specific project or scheme, so quite an all round talent and an asset to our company.
